Farm is ideally situated to explore the Marches, Shropshire
Hills, Mid-Wales, Shrewsbury, Chester, Oswestry and Welshpool.
We
are 54 miles from Barmouth (a traditional sea side town)
and 70 miles to Snowdon. With wonderful scenic roads to
the lakes, wild open spaces and breathtaking mountains.
The
local area offers some wonderful trips, Shrewsbury being
a medieval town with castle, gardens, excellent shopping
and river walks. Ironbridge the home of the industrial revolution.
Railway
enthusiasts are well catered for at Bala, Welshpool, Llanfair,
Llangollen and perhaps the more well known Severn Valley
Railway. The Royal Air Force Museum at Cosford is also within
easy reach. Just over the border into Wales visit Pistyll
Rhaedar situated in the Berwyn Mountains which boasts a
stupendous waterfall, higher than Niagara or visit Llangollen
a historic town, with its famous canal and aqueduct.
For
nature lovers a visit to The Long Mynd and The Stiperstones
Nature Reserve are truly breathtaking. For those feeling
energetic a walk to the top of The Breiddens to Rodney’s
Pillar will afford spectacular views of the Severn valley
(on a clear day!) We are within easy reach of The Severn
Way and Offa's dyke.
Local
attractions include the monthly Hill Climb at Loton Park,
the famous Shrewsbury Flower Show in August, The West Mids
Agricultural Show in June and Salop Steam Rally at the end
of August.
